Marco Bagnoli, born in 1949 in Empoli, has been one of the most important representatives post-1970s artistic movements in Italy.

His work is presented in complex installations that involve the space with multiple expressive media in competition with one another, from drawing and painting to printmaking and sculpture.

The artist proposes possible relationships between the potential cognition of the imaginary, intuitive thought, and emotion (faculties traditionally belonging to artistic expression) and the conscience, which is aligned with rationality (and therefore traditionally belongs to the field of scientific thought).
