The works of Massimo Bartolini (Cecina-Livorno, 1962) emerge from the artist’s careful investigation of space and the perceptual and relational systems that are created in relationship to the user.

Understood not only as a physical, real, architecturally defined place, but also as a place that is occupied, modified, or created ex novo by the artist, the space, in fact, seems to move toward the more intimate and instinctive dimension of the human mind.

In
Head n.2, an immaculate, aseptic room with rounded-off corners becomes a completely mental space, inhabited only by a small, wooden folding table, on the surface of which a computer screensaver is projected. The sound of a bass, like a deep heartbeat, accompanies visitors who, entering one at a time, find themselves alone with themselves and with the work of art.
