From the beginning, the work of Vanessa Beecroft (Genoa, 1969) has considered the importance of the image and its strong social and communicative value.

Focusing her attention on eating obsessions, she created performances that initially involved occasional female models, which then, as her work developed, appeared dressed and colored with wigs and other accessories, becoming increasingly similar to the diaphanous figures represented in her drawings.
