Present above all in the art of Enzo Cucchi (Morro d'Alba-Ancona, Italy, 1949) is the region of the Marches, where he was born. Cucchi employs techniques of rural artisanship, such as ceramics, and ancient and experimental techniques. His work defies labeling and interpretation, in part because it is not based on symbolic values.

Drawing is always fundamental, and yet the artist confronts many other tools and materials. There is always the trace of a vital energy, a hand-to-hand combat with matter.

In Cani con la lingua a spasso (Dogs with Tongues Wagging), 1980, a group of dogs is delineated at the center of the composition, isolating a situation of playful serenity.
