Born in Weert, Holland, in 1941, Jan Dibbets is a key figure in European Conceptual art. His work relies on photography as a means to investigate space and the way we use it.

The artist is concerned with photography and space, one as a way of conditioning visual perception and the other as an informative, iridescent phenomenon impossible to define in a univocal world. Since the late 1970s Dibbets has recorded the mutations of natural light's chromatic intensity as it filters through the windows of certain architectural environments, organizing photographic sequences according to visual patterns.
