Aquarell - bitte nicht betreten
(Watercolor - Please Keep Off), 1988

Similar in proportion and design to the furniture in many public parks, Aquarell is a garden bench that replaces the normal wooden slats used for the seat and back with long, mirrored strips.

By using this material Bruna Esposito places the bench in total relation to the environment in which it is found, giving it an intentionally elusive quality.

Aquarell is never the same: its appearance changes according to atmospheric conditions, the angle of the sun, and its proximity to the viewer.

This fluctuating identity corresponds to the fragility inherent to the chosen material, which is scarcely able to resist oncoming external forces
