Sol LeWitt (Hartford-Connecticut, USA, 1928) has concentrated on making sculpture since 1962, and since 1964 he has been creating modular structures based on the geometric figure of the cube.
This becomes the
basic element for a virtually infinite series of combinations, where the
three-dimensional figure is defined by the bars that delineate the empty
volume, so that one can perceive the structural rules upon which the figure
is constructed.
