Sol LeWitt

Panels and Tower with Colours and Scribbles, 1992

Sol LeWitt (Hartford-Connecticut, USA, 1928) has concentrated on making sculpture since 1962, and since 1964 he has been creating modular structures based on the geometric figure of the cube.

This becomes the basic element for a virtually infinite series of combinations, where the three-dimensional figure is defined by the bars that delineate the empty volume, so that one can perceive the structural rules upon which the figure is constructed.
