DESCRIPTION:Paolo Spaccamonti & Ramon Moro\nVampyr by Carl Theodor Dreyer (1932\, 73′) \nSaturday\, May 23\, 6:00 PM\nCastello di Rivoli Theater \nPaolo Spaccamonti: guitar\, synth\nRamon Moro: trumpet\, flugelhorn \nMusicians Paolo Spaccamonti & Ramon Moro made their debut in 2018 with the soundtrack for Vampyr\, which premiered at the Pesaro International Film Festival\, which co-produced the film-concert with the National Cinema Museum. Australian Jim White\, drummer for the Dirty Three\, participated in the Turin performance that year. The project was well received and was repeated a few months later at the Palazzo Reale in the summer\, as part of the Cinema District\, with the participation of Canadian cellist Julia Kent. \nAfter a hiatus of several years\, the duo resumed their work and brought it back on tour. A stop at Castello di Rivoli on May 23rd will present the restored version by the Cineteca di Bologna. \nFifty years after the death of the great master of Nordic cinema Carl Theodor Dreyer\, Paolo Spaccamonti and Ramon Moro transform Vampyr\, one of his most celebrated films\, into a visual and audio experience that brings to contemporary audiences all the mystery and unease of a dreamlike horror film that has influenced generations of filmmakers. Despite being Dreyer’s first sound film\, Vampyr relies very little on dialogue\, leaving room for the visionary incursions of the two musicians\, who use the images to create a counterpoint aimed at exploring and deepening its most mystical and nocturnal soul. \nVampyr – The Vampire (Vampyr – The Dream of Allan Grey) is a 1932 film directed by Carl Theodor Dreyer. Also known as The Strange Adventure of David (or Allan) Gray\, this is Dreyer’s first sound film\, although the actors make little use of spoken language. The film is part of the hypothetical trilogy that gave rise to all vampire films. Although it follows Tod Browning’s Dracula and Murnau’s Nosferatu\, Dreyer is not influenced by them but\, on the contrary\, draws on his own stylistic and content convictions that diverge from his previous works. The sequence of events is conceived as a body in constant motion\, capable of traversing and activating the peripheral spaces of the Castle\, transforming them into places of research\, interaction\, and experimentation. The program explores the relationship between the body and the museum space\, inviting the public to experience the architecture in a choreographic manner. The building’s incompleteness thus becomes a resource: an open field of possibilities where movement\, listening\, and imagination continually redefine the meaning of space. DESCRIPTION:Lecture Performance by Huda Takriti\n  \nCurated by Linda Fossati \nAs part of the exhibition Inserzioni \n  \n20 June 2026\, h 7–8 pm \nTheatre \n  \nHuda Takriti (Damascus\, 1990) develops a practice that intertwines archival research\, moving images\, performance\, and installation\, bringing historical materials and architectural contexts into dialogue to question the processes through which history is recorded\, written\, and erased. \nAmong the artists featured in the second edition of Inserzioni at the Castello di Rivoli Museo d’Arte Contemporanea\, Takriti has developed a project for the Museum that investigates the role of images\, cinema\, and industry in shaping postwar historical narratives. The videos Clarity is the Closest Wound to the Sun (2023) and It Is Always Midnight In Their Minds (2026)\, together with a vinyl installation extending along the walls of the Savoy residence\, reflect on the ways in which support for postcolonial liberation movements\, economic strategies\, and film production contributed to shaping the imaginary of decolonization processes. \nThe lecture performance takes shape as an extension of this research: a dispositif through which Takriti stages and navigates her materials\, articulating a narrative that combines text and images. DESCRIPTION:UNA SCUOLA AL CASTELLO DI RIVOLI is a place for postgraduate art education based at the Castello di Rivoli Museo d’Arte Contemporanea and in the Piedmont area. \nAccompanied by a rotating ENSEMBLE of local Turin-based educators\, a group of 12 recently-graduated PRACTITIONERS work to collectively and critically dismantle their disciplines and delay production in a spirit of open dialogue. \nEach year UNA SCUOLA calls for 12 new PRACTITIONERS and incorporates previous year’s PRACTITIONERS WITH and into THE ENSEMBLE. \nThe first year (2024) of UNA SCUOLA imagined what a postgraduate school could be (time\, place\, and space). Year two (2025) focused on an old world dying and a new world which could not yet be born\, and UNA SCUOLA appeared in this interregnum. For UNA SCUOLA’s third year\, ‘Resilient Mediums’\, we will look towards new worlds of sonic fiction\, archives of affects\, social choreographies\, watery dreams\, earthly tactics\, embodied literature\, and doing more with less\, between 29 September–2 October 2026 at Castello di Rivoli Museo d’Arte Contemporanea and 5–8 October 2026 in the city and hills of Turin. \nwww.una-scuola.com \n  \nGLOSSARY \nUNA SCUOLA AL CASTELLO DI RIVOLI is a place for postgraduate art education. UNA SCUOLA AL CASTELLO DI RIVOLI is developed in the context of CRRI\, the Research Center of Castello di Rivoli Museo d’Arte Contemporanea. \nPRACTITIONERS are 12 recent graduates from Italian institutions enrolled in UNA SCUOLA annually. \nTHE ENSEMBLE is a community of local Turin-based artists\, scientists\, curators\, writers\, performers\, philosophers\, poets\, and economists who share material (workshops\, lectures\, seminars\, screenings\, technical classes\, walks\, exercises\, food) with PRACTITIONERS. \nEach year there is an INCORPORATION of previous year’s PRACTITIONERS WITH and into THE ENSEMBLE\, supported by FACILITATORS. \nFACILITATORS shape UNA SCUOLA through RADICAL PEDAGOGY. \nRADICAL PEDAGOGY comprises material (from yesterday and for tomorrow) on educating ourselves and one another with an emergent curricular from THE ENSEMBLE typeset and disseminated by THE MEDIUM. \nTHE MEDIUM shapes UNA SCUOLA’S graphic identity and\, in 2026\, shows-and-tells various ways in which texts\, images and other forms of work can be meaningfully gathered\, structured\, articulated and channelled.This could apply equally to the specific material generated over the course of two weeks\, or more generally to a body of work collected across a career.
