Castello di Rivoli Museo d’Arte Contemporanea announces the appointment of Francesca Lavazza as our new President. A long-time Benefactor of the institution, she succeeds Fiorenzo Alfieri (1943-2020), whose tenure abruptly ended following his sudden death from COVID-19 last December.
Francesca Lavazza states “I am happy to accept the position of President of Castello di Rivoli Museo d’Arte Contemporanea, and in doing so, allow me to thank all those who have warmly supported my candidacy. It is an enormous privilege to take on the role that was previously held by Fiorenzo Alfieri and to continue the steadfast course he set in the cultural sphere – so important in terms of vision and scope: a networked culture, an international dimension, an on-going story of sharing art that I also find in the path taken by Lavazza in recent years, based on a desire to reach out to attract and inspire diverse audiences in which younger generations play a fundamental and inspiring role. Together with Director Carolyn Christov-Bakargiev and the entire team of Castello di Rivoli, I believe that this confirms our mission: to build culture with commitment and vision, in the hope that we will soon be able to reopen the physical Museum spaces.”
“I express great satisfaction for the choice of Francesca Lavazza,” states the Regional Councilor for Culture, Vittoria Poggio, “a profile of great competence and depth, able to pursue the activities of this Museum, in which the Regione Piemonte entrusts its ability to expand culture and public.”
