Giovanni Anselmo first emerged as part of the Arte Povera group during the second half of the 1960s while engaged in work aimed at highlighting the dialogue between the visible and the invisible. He was among the artists whose work was shown at Castello di Rivoli Museum of Contemporary Art when it opened in 1984. This catalogue is published on the occasion of his solo exhibition at the Castello and includes major essays by Carolyn Christov-Bakargiev and Anne Rorimer, as well as a reprint of the important text on Anselmo’s work written by Jean-Christophe Ammann in 1979.

The catalogue focuses on the specific exhibition project conceived by the artist for the Manica Lunga spaces, with original texts by Marcella Beccaria, Ilaria Bernardi, and Maddalena Disch on the artworks on show.

It also features for the first time an extensive chronology with images of the artworks’ exhibition history and a detailed chronological and bibliographic section
