There’s something of a B-movie sensibility about this odd scientist falling in love with this substance. B movies often explore bizarre forms of erotica, collisions of taboo and fantasy, horror and arousal,
and that too is what Half-life <\/em>is aiming for.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first four chapters of Half Life<\/em> <\/strong>are now released as an audio novel on Digital Cosmos every Friday from June 21 to July 12, 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Half Life<\/em> is an erotic science fiction about Pearl, a scientist who develops an infatuation with radioactive waste. The intertwining of nuclear matter and sensual appetites links to matters such as desire, self-poisoning, consumption and addiction to toxic substances but also to an attraction towards nuclear energy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Half Life<\/em> is written by Sophie Cundale<\/strong> and curated by Giulia Colletti<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

To mark the launch, CURA. has published a conversation between the artist and curator. The recordings are accompanied by a series of photographic images featuring the narrator of the chapters, actress\u00a0Bryony Miller<\/strong>.\u2028The photographs were made in collaboration with artist and photographer\u00a0Polly Brown<\/strong>\u00a0and feature Bryony Miller as the imagined protagonist Pearl. Makeup by\u00a0Crystabel Riley<\/strong>, hair by\u00a0Clara Todirau<\/strong>, face and nail sculptures by Sophie Cundale, fabricated by\u00a0Martha McGuinn<\/strong>, sound production by\u00a0Jamie Neville\u00a0<\/strong>at Teeth Studios.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
