ACCESS TO THE BUILDING<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Castle has a parking space for people with disabilities in front of the entrance, on Piazza Mafalda di Savoia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Museum is accessible to wheelchairs via two ramps, one on the side of the Castello Building (on the left)<\/strong> and the other on the side of Manica Lunga (on the right).<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the Castle side, next to the door with the ramp there are is intercom to contact the reception staff, if needed. On the Manica Lunga side there is a doorbell next to the door with the ramp.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SPACES AND SERVICES<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ticket Office <\/strong>is located at the entrance of Castello<\/strong> building. Next to the door with the ramp there is intercom to contact the reception staff, if needed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Bookshop<\/strong> (ground floor) is located inside the Manica Lunga<\/strong> building, where there are also:
– the Cafeteria and accessible toilets <\/strong>(first floor),
– the Library,<\/strong> CRRI and Conference Room<\/strong> (second floor).
The third floor is used as an exhibition space<\/strong> for temporary exhibitions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Connections to the floors via lift and ramps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Inside the Castello<\/strong> building there are exhibition rooms<\/strong> on three floors, furthermore there are the workshop spaces of the Education Department and the Theater<\/strong> on the ground floor. Accessible toilets<\/strong> are located on the first and second floor, inside the Museum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Museum Theater is accessible to people in wheelchairs via a ramp, please contact the reception staff for access.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A wheelchair is available in the Ticket Office for those who need it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the room near the Ticket Office there are two tactile models of the Castle<\/strong>, designed for blind and visually impaired people, curated by the Museum’s Education Department in collaboration with the Italian Union of the Blind and Visually Impaired.Guide dogs are welcome<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

VISITS AND ACTIVITIES AT THE MUSEUM, RESEARCH AND TRAINING<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Museum’s Education Department<\/strong> organizes specific visits<\/strong> for people with sensory, cognitive and mental disabilities, as well as visits and workshop activities<\/strong> for schools\/families and training<\/strong> days on the topic of accessibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are available to organize targeted visits aimed at offering the best possible experience to visitors with specific needs. The Education Department has many years of experience in the field of accessibility, has carried out research<\/strong> in collaboration with relevant associations such as the National Deaf Association, the Turin Institute for the Deaf, the Italian Union of the Blind and Visually Impaired, CPD, Alzheimer’s Caf\u00e8 Fondazione Carlo Molo Onlus, Casa Oz, Tactile Vision Onlus and many others. It has implemented innovative experiments directly involving people with disabilities in co-planning. It has achieved results of international importance such as the publication of the first Dictionary of contemporary art in LIS Italian Sign Language, in collaboration with the Institute of the Deaf of Turin, to enrich LIS with 80 specific terms in the artistic lexicon, which are still missing.

SERVICES FOR FAMILIES
<\/strong>The Museum is family and kids friendly<\/strong> and all accessible toilets are equipped with baby changing facilities<\/strong>. They are located on the first and second floors of Castello, in Manica Lunga on the first floor, next to the Cafeteria and at the end of the Manica and also inside the workshop spaces of the Education Department on the Castello ground floor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


On Castello first floor there is a breastfeeding corner<\/strong>. In the Cafeteria, bottle warmers and high chairs are available for the little ones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


The Education Department<\/strong> regularly offers activities dedicated to families, every third weekend of the month and on other special occasions. Castello di Rivoli joins the Born with culture<\/em><\/strong> project thanks
to the collaboration with the Fondazione Medicina a Misura di Donna Onlus and the local health authorities, which welcome new born babies with the Cultural Passport, offering the possibility of free access to the Museum with the family until the age of one.
