{"id":103570,"date":"2020-03-06T20:30:41","date_gmt":"2020-03-06T19:30:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.castellodirivoli.org\/castello-di-rivoli-presents-digital-cosmos\/"},"modified":"2025-11-21T12:09:01","modified_gmt":"2025-11-21T11:09:01","slug":"castello-di-rivoli-presents-digital-cosmos","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.castellodirivoli.org\/en\/castello-di-rivoli-presents-digital-cosmos\/","title":{"rendered":"Castello di Rivoli presents DIGITAL COSMOS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Il Castello di Rivoli presents DIGITAL COSMOS<\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\"video-wrapper\">\n<div class=\"embed-responsive embed-responsive-16by9\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/WGx4DpTqCDo\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong>Castello di Rivoli Museo d\u2019Arte Contemporanea presents <a href=\"https:\/\/www.castellodirivoli.org\/en\/mostra\/digital-cosmos\/\"><em>DIGITAL COSMOS<\/em><\/a>, a new virtual venue collecting digital artworks, streaming conferences, and documentations integrating the physical visit of the Museum while offering the visitor an expanded experience.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Following the first live streaming with guests collector Uli Sigg and artist Ai Weiwei on February 24, Castello di Rivoli \u2013 first institution in Italy to introduce this project \u2013 presents <a href=\"https:\/\/www.castellodirivoli.org\/en\/mostra\/digital-cosmos\/\"><em>DIGITAL COSMOS<\/em><\/a>, a virtual venue hosting a selection of original works and newly commissioned artworks for the digital platform. This project expands on the large collection of conferences, meetings, films and videos of exhibitions available on the museum&#8217;s website.<\/p>\n<p>As Director of Castello di Rivoli Museo d\u2019Arte Contemporanea <strong>Carolyn Christov-Bakargiev <\/strong>states, &#8220;Preserving, studying and exhibiting works of art is a pivotal aim of the Museum but it is not enough to pursue the objectives of a museum of contemporary art of the 21st century. An identity shaped through relationship and openness requires an uninterrupted renewal, in harmony with the rapid and profound evolution of society. The decision to open a virtual venue now stems from our awareness of how in a moment of health emergency involving the whole country it is extremely necessary to make cultural initiatives and contents shareable that allow to go beyond the physical limits of the quota cultural use and bring the public closer establishment. <em>DIGITAL COSMOS<\/em> does not replace a visit to the Museum, nor the uniqueness of the intense physical and emotional encounter that can be experienced only in real spaces and with the body of works or performances, but adds more private and screen-based dimensions and experiences.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><em>DIGITAL COSMOS<\/em> is part of an ongoing technological updating project of the Museum.
