Ouverture 2024<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the Castello di Rivoli Museum of Contemporary Art, the Library, in collaboration with the CRRI – Castello di Rivoli Research Center and the Curatorial Department, has created a special reading room open to the public. In the spaces of the Library, approximately 170 catalogs, some of which are rare and out of print, of the exhibitions held at the Castello di Rivoli from the inauguration in 1984 to today have been made available for free consultation. This room represents a unique opportunity for visitors to explore and learn more about the institution’s collection and exhibition history through the publications that the Museum has edited as publisher or co-publisher.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Library of the Castello di Rivoli Museum of Contemporary Art, with a book collection of approximately 50,000 volumes, is among the most well-stocked contemporary art libraries in Italy. Specializing in 20th and 21st century art, the Library, located in the Manica Lunga of the Castle, was opened to the public in 1999, with an initial core of publications collected since 1984. Its collection, which also includes many artist books, has been constantly updated and expanded over the years through purchases, donations from private individuals and artists, and thanks to the exchange of publications with Italian and foreign museums, galleries, libraries and art foundations, with particular attention to the artists present in the Museum’s collection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The CRRI – Castello di Rivoli Research Center is a Department created in 2017 within the Museum whose mission is the research, collection and valorization of the archive materials of Italian artists, architects, curators, gallery owners and collectors active in particular from the 1960s to the present day. Through the CRRI, the Castello di Rivoli Museum of Contemporary Art expands its scientific and academic vocation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
