Zak Group collaborated with the artists Anne Imhof, Eliza Douglas and composer Billy Bultheel on the graphic design and art direction for the SEX<\/em> vinyl. Released by PAN records, the LP accompanies Imhof\u2019s performance of the same title previously exhibited at Tate Modern, The Art Institute of Chicago and Castello di Rivoli Museo d\u2019Arte Contemporanea. SEX<\/em> was the second record Zak Group designed for the artist, following Faust<\/em> in 2019.<\/p>\n

The vinyl sleeve features full-bleed photography by longtime collaborator Nadine Fraczkowski. Titles and credits are set in Gerstner-Programm in canary yellow.<\/p>\n

Imhof, Douglas and Bultheel adapted the original exhibition score that references punk, metal and grunge traditions alongside classical and baroque music. The thirteen compositions combine vocals rooted in subcultures with instruments ranging from harpsichord to distorted electric guitars. The album is mixed and engineered by Ville Haimala and mastered by Rashad Becker.<\/p>\n
