\nThe artist describes the origin of the work \u201cSpeech Bubbles\u201d, a large environmental installation made up of innumerable Mylar balloons shaped like comic-book bubbles, which the museum is showing on the occasion of the presentation of the second edition of Parreno\u2019s book \u201cSnow Dancing\u201d.
\nPHILIPPE PARRENO: born in 1964 in Oran, Algeria, lives and works in Paris. A leading exponent on the international art scene, he works with shifts in meaning between reality and fiction, often using cinema as a raw material, particularly through the reuse of expressive means such as special effects, and has now himself become a creator of videos and feature-length films, often in collaboration with other artists. He was recently the subject of a traveling retrospective at the Kunsthalle Z\u00fcrich, the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris, the Irish Museum of Modern Art in Dublin, CCS Bard in New York and the Serpentine Gallery in London.
