Exhibition Olafur Eliasson. A project for the castello

24 march 1999 - 23 may 1999
Curated by Marcella Beccaria
Olafur Eliasson (Copenhagen, 1967) interrogates the possibilities of human perception. His installations, created using intentionally simple technology, evoke natural phenomena or those that belong to everyday experience. They place viewers at the center of defined situations, offering an occasion for individual and subjective experiences.
For his first installation in an Italian museum, the artist interprets the architectural space as a fluid situation, open to different interpretations.
Your Circumspection Disclosed ( La tua circospezione svelata), 1999, is a sort of accessible camera obscura that, through the use of reflective surfaces, unites the external and internal space, allowing visitors to encounter a particular view and to have an experience that is simultaneously optical and physical.
