Magic is his mother tongue, circus his second language: Yann Frisch designs an odd universe where magic and circus join to shape a brand-new language. For Teatro a Corte he’s presently working at the Castello di Rivoli with a project focusing on the eternal figure of the clown, a reality that always fascinated him and that since quite a long time is representing the artistic target which he’s being dedicating his research to. “The clown is a lonely human being, and he is representative of an extinct species that still has something important to say” claims the French artist. Morceaux de Clown is a work in progress that is going to stage the new show La Syndrome de Cassandre as the last leg of the project.
YANN FRISCH
In 2011 and when he was only twenty-two years old, Yann Frisch won the European championship of Magic, while in 2012 he won the worldwide one. Since he was a boy, he could not resist to the charm of illusionism and of the most important magicians’ techniques. After an independent training path, he attended the Lido Circus School of Toulouse where he became keen on jugglery and clown arts, developing especially towards the latter different approaches, from the technical to the emotional one. In 2008 he met Raphaël Navarro, co-founder of the 14:20 company, starting right away a prismatic collaboration.
