Huda Takriti (Damascus, 1990) develops a practice that intertwines archival research, moving images, performance, and installation, bringing historical materials and architectural contexts into dialogue to question the processes through which history is recorded, written, and erased.
Among the artists featured in the second edition of Inserzioni at the Castello di Rivoli Museo d’Arte Contemporanea, Takriti has developed a project for the Museum that investigates the role of images, cinema, and industry in shaping postwar historical narratives. The videos Clarity is the Closest Wound to the Sun (2023) and It Is Always Midnight In Their Minds (2026), together with a vinyl installation extending along the walls of the Savoy residence, reflect on the ways in which support for postcolonial liberation movements, economic strategies, and film production contributed to shaping the imaginary of decolonization processes.
The lecture performance takes shape as an extension of this research: a dispositif through which Takriti stages and navigates her materials, articulating a narrative that combines text and images. In this live activation, the working process composed of editing, rereading, and rewriting is exposed as a critical practice, making visible the strategies through which images observe, construct, and transform reality.
