Gli Irregolari special event. L’ intervista: prassi e teoria

As part of the Gli Irregolari (The Irregulars) series comprising days of analysis and study, curator Gianluigi Ricuperati will host a session open to the public at 5 pm on Sunday 18 July. Hans-Ulrich Obrist will for the first time interview Giuseppe Penone. Obrist, an archivist of the productions of philosophers, artists, architects and intellectuals of our time – with an immense number of interviews with exponents of our times to his credit, from Cedric Page to Eric Hosbwamn, Rem Koolhaas to Louise Bourgeois, J.G. Ballard to Hans-Georg Gadamer – is now adding a new dialogue to his precious ‘catalogue of extraordinary minds’, in the form of an interview with one of the most extraordinary of living artists. This dialogue will take place live in a special place – the Castello di Rivoli – which has had the honour to host and display various phases in the development of Giuseppe Penone’s poetics.

The meeting will continue at 6.30 pm with the presentation of Obrist’s new book, INTERVIEWS volume 2, published in Italy by Charta, Milan. Other speakers include Andrea Bellini, co-director of the Castello di Rivoli, and Alain Elkann, writer and essayist. The meeting will be moderated by Gianluigi Ricuperati, who has organised the series.
