Founded in 2022, Paint It Black sets out as an independent publishing house dedicated to the arts and a curated bookstore based in Turin, intended to become a space for experimentation, discussion, and exchange.
Paint It Black was commissioned by the Castello di Rivoli to curate the Museum’s bookstore by remodeling the space, renovating the editorial selection and developing a series of interventions.
The first of these, which will coincide with the inauguration of the new bookstore on March 14th, 2023, is NOUVEAUX PHONOGRAMMES, a collective mail art project curated by Achille Filipponi and centered around war and, in a broader sense, conflict. The contributions of the project will be presented within the bookstore’s space and subsequently collected in a Paint It Black publication.
