4:30-5:30 p.m.

Castello di Rivoli Museo d’Arte Contemporanea presents “Timothy Morton – HELL”

Timothy Morton, philosopher and author of the book “Hell: In Search of a Christian Ecology” will be in conversation with Gianluca Didino (@gdidino ), writer and cultural journalist. The conversation will be introduced by Marianna Vecellio,  curator of the museum.

Morton fosters the assumption that there is an unexpected but profound relationship between religion and ecology that can guide a planetary-scale response to the climate crisis. Spiritual and mystical feelings have a profound resonance with ecological thinking and together provide the resources environmentalism desperately needs in this time of climate emergency. Invoking a global
movement that blends ecology and mysticism, “Hell: In Search of a Christian Ecology” takes readers on a journey into the contemporary underworld and offers a surprising vision of salvation.

The book will be published in Italian in 2025 by Timeo, Palermo, with the title “Inferno. William Blake e la ricerca di un’ecologia cristiana”.

The conversation will be in English, and will take place online, broadcasting live on
Castello di Rivoli’s   Youtube channel .

The event is part of the exhibition “Mutual Aid – Art in collaboration with nature” on view at Castello di Rivoli, and “Vibrant Natures. On Telluric Cosmologies”, a project curated by Guido Santandrea e Marianna Vecellio , realized in collaboration between Almanac , Castello di Rivoli Museo d’Arte Contemporanea and Orti Generali.
