Alongside the new commissions, the Museum presents an important reinstallation of works from the Arte povera collection. Arte povera constitutes one of the founding identities of Castello di Rivoli, whose Collection houses a series of important works by the group’s
protagonists, spanning a broad chronological arc that, from the historic works, extends to document the paths subsequently undertaken by the artists over the years. The new presentation
intentionally assigns each artist an autonomous space, highlighting masterpieces from the Collection, including those on loan from Fondazione Arte CRT. After encountering Luciano Fabro’s permanent outdoor installation, on the first floor, galleries dedicated to Alighiero
Boetti
, Piero Gilardi, and Michelangelo Pistoletto are presented, with new installations on the second floor focusing on Giovanni Anselmo, Pier Paolo Calzolari, Jannis Kounellis, Mario Merz, Giuseppe Penone, and Gilberto Zorio, and, from October 2026, on Emilio Prini.
The reinstallation reaffirms the Museum’s role as guardian of the conservation, study, and full accessibility of a public heritage that continues to speak to the present. As part of the reinstallations that highlight Turin’s role as a creative hub, from October 2026, for the first time at Castello di Rivoli, a gallery will also be dedicated to Carol Rama, one of the greatest artists of the twentieth century.
