Nanda Lanfranco (Genoa, 1935 – Pieve Ligure, GE, 2023) began photographing as a self-taught practitioner in the 1970s, working closely with the contemporary art scene and cultural life of the city of Genoa. The author had a long-standing relationship with the Castello di Rivoli, an institution whose beginnings she documented as early as 1984 and which she then frequented assiduously until 2008. In 2025, the CRRI – Castello di Rivoli Research Institute established the Nanda Lanfranco Archival collection, organizing and cataloging over 200 items, including original autographed prints, slides, color photographs, negatives, contact sheets, and digital files.
The exhibition Nanda Lanfranco. Artist Portraits (Room 5) showcases the archival collection for the first time, presenting a selection of original prints depicting some of the artists who have worked at the Castello di Rivoli.
