New Website

The new Castello di Rivoli website offers a new look and high-quality content accessible on several levels. The new structure will enable the user to navigate in a variety of ways, either through all the exhibitions held at the Museum over the years – from its inauguration to the present day – or through the artists present in the collection, or indeed through the works before passing to the exhibitions in which they were present.

Among the features that stand out in the new site is a wide choice of content concerning not only the Museum’s heritage but also a broad range of exhibitions, events, educational workshops and initiatives linked to the surrounding area.

The new site has been organised to provide comprehensive information about all the activities of the Museum or associated with it.

An important novelty is the presence of a small search engine containing the entire collection, enabling the user to create his own search portfolio and offer the possibility of downloading the pdf of the list created.

WebTv

castellodirivoli.tv shows exhibitions, conferences and other events to do with the Museum and its artists, giving a voice to the protagonists of the history of art. Through a series of exclusive interviews with the exponents of contemporary art, artists, art historians, curators, and thanks also to the intervention of exponents of other disciplines, the online videos describe the events of the Museum in “real time” and offer new approaches and in-depth reports. The web tv also offers archive material from the Castello di Rivoli’s video library, exploring the history of the Museum and of the artists who have played a part in its history.

The web tv’s programming is divided into seven thematic sections: NuoveNews, containing all the previews of the web tv videos; MostreExhibitions with the ‘making of’ reports of the museum’s exhibitions, from layout to press conference and inauguration; OggiToday, a meeting place for content emerging, discussed and explored during the museum’s initiatives; OpereArtworks with the works in the collection described by the artists or art critics and curators; ArtistiArtists, a space containing video interviews held in the studios of the artists or in other exhibition spaces, presented with archive documents; MuseoMuseum, in which the viewer will find the history of the Castello di Rivoli, from its creation to the present day. The programming also includes the activities of the Education Department, of the Friends of the Museum and collaborations with other national and international institutions, while IeriYesterday offers a selection of historic documents, including talk shows and reports about the exhibitions hosted at the Castello. These programmes are flanked by a further two ‘extra’ sections: DomaniTomorrow, with previews of the web-tv programmes, offering a ‘backstage’ view of the themes and protagonists of the videos to be put online in the following few days, or a sport about forthcoming content, and Playlist, a selection of thematic itineraries within the programming, recommended by the producers. The special events taking place at the Castello are broadcast live, transmitted in live streaming on the site and subsequently archived in the programming where they remain available.

Newsletter and Save the Date

A monthly newsletter with a summary of events and ‘Save the Date’ information for each initiative at the Museum is sent by email to an ever-increasing number of users. Through the new site, anyone interest can register to be included in the Museum’s address book.

The Newsletter offers previews of future events and recalls of those currently open; it provides information about shows, meetings or other events hosted or organised at the Castello and about the new films on the web tv; it lists the calendar of appointments proposed by the Education Department in the Museum and elsewhere. It is a useful tool for all those who want to be constantly kept up to date with the Museum’s life.
